Short, factual answers about the PV-T Hybrid Panels.
Both electricity and heat from the same panel: photovoltaic cells generate power while a copper absorber behind them captures thermal energy for hot water or heating support. This panel delivers 590 Wp of nominal electrical power from 2.7 m² of roof area, plus its thermal output.
Yes. Circulating water holds the PV cells 10-20 °C cooler than an uncooled panel, which translates into roughly 3-8% more electricity — and the captured heat is delivered to the building instead of being lost.
PV-T wins when the heat has somewhere to go — domestic hot water, a pool, or a heat-pump source circuit. The same square metre then yields substantially more total energy than plain PV. If the building has no low-temperature heat demand, standard PV remains the cheaper choice per kWh.
Solimpeks backs the panel with a 10-year product warranty, stated on this product page. Solimpeks designed and produced the world's first PV-T product in 2008.
